Anzac tank formations?

During the early period in N afrika, were there any ANZAC tank formations? the currently in winspww2, they only got troops of 3 tanks&smaller, shouldn't they have a company?or histoically they had none?

Australia
2 sections only it seems, pre-war

New Zealand
None

In the desert, it seems most armour was attached from UK regiments other than the divisional cavalry (armoured cars and carriers).

Just off the top of my head, I remember the Aussies used captured M13/40s.
Marked with a large kangaroo.

P.S. iCaMp, I used a picture of a captured M11/39 rather than a M13/40 - because I already had one in my Imageshack collection. That is probably why you didn’t notice the gun.

The Australian War Memorial (AWM) has a searchable database of military photos. One of the best photos of a M13/40 in Australian service is this one.

The AWM in Canberra is a very interesting museum. It has a website here.
