Llamaserver help: AI players

A friend of mine and I would like to play a private game, using llamaserver. Is it possible to add AI players beforehand? Could we play w/ for example 2 human players and 8 AI players?

I assumed that it would be possible, but I can't find any options for adding AI players on the llamaserver, and so far my searches on the topic has yielded nothing.

We would prefer to pbem, since it fits our time constraints in RL better.

Any help would be appreciated!

Well, you could make a bunch of human players and set them all to AI in game. But if you want to start with them AI you could use gandalf's server. It's what we did for NaV. You can do either direct connect or pbem on his server, the only thing is it's not quite as optimized for pbem as llamabeast's server is. Anyway I'm sure he'll pop in here and tell you more.

The only way on LLama's server seems to be creating the players then on the first or second turn set them to run AI from then on.

There are pros and cons. The AIs will be setup abit better than they would be by random AI. But unforunately one of you will know the settings they are using. You could ask if someone here would step into the game and set them up, then set them to AI and quit. That way it would be a surprise.

OR there are pre-created games on my server.

For just AI's added Id recommend vsAI games. The pros and cons are that they are randomly created (so some dumb settings might get used). On the other hand they are allied with each other, and can use more creation points than the other method which can make them stronger. Oh and its direct-connect instead of pbem in case that was important.

OR you can be a server on your own to make best use of all options. The advantage it more power than either of the other two methods, the drawback is a fairly heavy learning curve in order to get it.

Septimus Severus recently set up a Noobs vs. Vets game with AI opponents thrown in there. He might be able to help you out, or give you his setup to tweak.
