Re: MBT Campaign: Race for Tehran
Nive video, i'm going to start playing, btw Youtube is probably gonna remove it thinking you are making political speaks, not a cool intro for a cool campaign ;), i'll check this out
edit: woah, really big maps, very big forces, not my style but still seems good |
Re: MBT Campaign: Race for Tehran
hehe
The campaign will likely be a handful for the average player... :grenade: ...although the core is big, refitting points are minimal - take care of your assets..., lose an Abrams and it's gone...;) |
Re: MBT Campaign: Race for Tehran
Nearly finnished first battle & have lost a few men as out front scaning for mines followed by tanks the rest of my vehicles are trailing as vulnerable to ATGMs etc. Thing is amount of arty they only generaly fire the once as I call in 15+ tubes plus possibly air & smoke. After the first encounter switched dischargers & main guns off on tanks so dont waste HE & can move in to cover troops with smoke if need be, 1 tank per platoon has its gun on just in case. The barrage & MG fire is killing everything as lots of vehicles troops have only fired a couple of shots as no need to draw attention. Hit the heights between the 2 rough areas in front of compound for 3 turns then moved meeting little resitance, needed to wait anyway as troops are checking for mines. The compound was then hit with everything B-52s planes & every arty piece for 5 turns while the troops moved up. Entering round dragons teeth 1 scout & remains of a squad are only unit found plus destroyed guns MG pits & vehicles. Still plenty of ammo to see whats on our flanks as largely ignored to minimise mines. Its slight overkill still tis the Americans but big fist no finnesse needed.
Less arty & a few more repair points would make it more intresting as it is slowly slowly bombard the tar out of is the way. |

The campaign is about a month in length. Do not expect to be able to make any major changes to the core force. There will be a few refitting points to repair slightly damaged units but you will not be able to repair a total loss Abrams. However, it is possible for players to edit the campaign themselves - say increase the repair points if so desired. Or change tha campaign from FIX to OPEN and purchasing their own Core (it's also possible to change nation from US ARMY to whatever - your support will still be US but you might want to play the campaign as maybe Britain..., take the Bundeswehr or the Polish army for a spin in the desert etc...) :D |

Re: MBT Campaign: Race for Tehran
I've not been one for user generated campanigns in the past, but that intro was very interesting. May give this one a try if I get the time. Thanks.

But be advised; you'll probably need to spend a lot of time on the campaign to finish it. Task Force 1-35 Armor! :usa |
Re: MBT Campaign: Race for Tehran
Its worth a try on the second mission & if the intros anything to go by I think we are in for a bit of variety difficulty is going up & keeping vehicles alive is vital as no replacements, watch them flanks.
