Another Magic Duel Question...

Im sure the answer is lurking somewhere in this forum but have not managed to find it, and so I need to ask...

As far as I know Magic Duel is decided based on the "base" astral level of the mages involved, i.e. magic object boosts (skull cap, crystal coin etc) do not count. Correct?

Now, what about spell boosts like power of the spheres, Light of Norther star or communions, would those increases in astral help the Duel or not?
