Any Java gurus hereabouts?
My usual source of tech advice has come up empty, so I thought I'd ask around here.
While trying to diagnose some problems with a Web site's beta GUI, I discovered that I have somehow gotten two Versions of Java installed, 1.3.0_01 and 1.3.1. Could this double install be causing conflicts? Can I safely delete the older Version, or should I leave it there? If it matters, this is running under Win95. ------------------ Cap'n Q The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all of its contents. FWIW, I'd recommend uninstalling both before reinstalling a clean new copy of 1.3.1. There's also a beta of 1.4 available, if'n you're feeling bold.
Here's the URL for Sun's site: http://java.sun.com/ And remember: "it's not broken - it's just Java!" http://www.shrapnelgames.com/ubb/ima...ons/icon12.gif |
