Save research stats?

Is there a way to copy the contents of my research window so that I can save it as a text file or send as an attachment to other players? Would be great for trading with other players.

Btw, this would be a nice feature: A message type "send research statistics".

Yes, that would be handy sometimes http://www.shrapnelgames.com/ubb/images/icons/icon7.gif. The only thing I can think of right now is making screenshots of the research window and send the picture files.

Do you mean show what technologies your already have or show what technologies you are currently researching? I wouldn't think you'd want to reveal ALL of the techs you currently know to anyone. This is not a very 'Machiavellian' attitude! http://www.shrapnelgames.com/ubb/images/icons/icon7.gif Such information could be used against you! Anyway, as far as saying what techs you have to trade or requesting techs from other players, you can easily do that with a human via a 'general message' in the diplmacy screen. With an AI you would have to explicitly request a trade for the desired tech, I guess, or explicitly offer to trade a tech that you have. I don't think the AI has mesages for saying that it does not HAVE a tech that you are requesting, though. I think it would just refuse the trade. If it did tell you when it didn't have the tech, this might be a way to cheat, after all. Asking for techs would be much easier than using intelligence ops to learn your AI enemy's tech levels.

I'm playing a team game right now that requires a sharing of technology. It would be convienent to keep the allies in sync to be able to export a text file with all my current techs in it.

In a normal game this would be worthless. But in a team victory game, it becomes very useful.

Why not just organize how to research from the beginning?
Ie. "You do shipsize and shields, I'll do weapons and engines."

With 2 players that would be doable, but there are 4 of on the team. It isn't impossible, but it does got a lot more complex. Also, things change, some people have more research that others, lose planets, etc.

I'm always looking for ways to make things easier.

In truth, another "treaty" type level would be useful: "team-mate". This would be setable at the beginning of the game, and would provide a perm parnership along with a Research Sharing window that would allow for easy swaping of technology. It would show what each team member had in each area, and what they were working on. Sharing could be automatic.

This is obviously a SE5 thing now that MM has moved on to the RPG, but it would be a cool way to play, I think.
