Domain with bad majic scales

Do I understand properly, that if my week domain has bad magic scales, If my mages will be out of my domain ,still in my provinces, of course, researches will not have my magic related domain pentalties and even can get + magic if such exists in that land they research in?

umm assuming i understand your writing right, yes if they're out of your dom, they will not get the drain dominion. no, if they are in other people's magic dominion they will not get +1 magic

Almost right, I think.
Mages will research with the magic scale penalty (if one exists) of the province they are in, regardless of who's dominion is in that province.
They will only get the research bonus from the magic scale if the province has your dominion.
Since your scales won't take effect until after your dominion does, you can get the bonus for a short time.

It's generally not something to count on. Trying to exploit it is usually done with bad scales, low dominion and a blood sacrifice nation to keep your dominion alive. Heretics can also be used to avoid scale penalties.

So, If I'm in neighbour dominion, which is positive for magic. And my dominion is negative. What bonus/pannalty will have my mage researching there?

So they will have base research, with no plus or minus.

You gain no bonuses from hostile dominion - only penalties, with exeption: enemy's luck scale means the same amount of misfortune to you.

are you sure about this? I know that enemy's luck turns into your misfortune but other scales remain the same I think. even some guides around, like a guide for Mictlan for example, suggests to keep part of your empire outside of your dominion to get the enemy's superior traits as you got a lot of negatives for a good double/triple bless.

Yes that is how it works. Mictlan likely has bad scales in order to support a bless strategy. When it says to keep part of your empire outside of your dominion, that is likely so you only have to deal with neutral scales instead of negative ones.

It is easiest to see the difference with the magic scale. If you check your researchers in a a province with a postive magic scale and a negitive dominion, you will see they do not have the research bonus. But as soon as you get a positive dominion, but before the scales adjust to your own, you will get the research bonus.

Yep, I can confirm that's definitely how it works. You can at the very best only get neutral scales from opposing dominion. You can benefit from someone else's scales however, in the short period between your dom becoming positive in the province and the scales adjusting to match your own. This is nothing a strat could ever be based on, just a quirk of the game.

I'm not so convinced about the luck scale, since I've never heard a definitive test being done on it. Enemy growth scale also helps your pop total, but it doesn't (I believe) provide the income bonus.
