Played a few turns, nice map, But ARVN lack men to prevent positions from being overrun, since most of them are spread far from the initial combat areas, you can't pull them off since you lack men to guard important positions, good scenario, btw i suggest you place a few vc squads in the airfield to represent infiltrators and men that sneak in before the attack, this way, you can have the human commander pinned at their positions, else, i can pull a few squads to boost firepower to other areas.
keep good ones coming :)

It seemed like a good idea for a scenario when I first started researching, but it turned out a little dull after completion. However, the map came out so good, (I found contemporary aerial photos of the airfield ;which is no longer there) that it seemed a shame to scrap the whole thing. So after a month of tweeking, I just uploaded it and will let you guys decide.

There's not much that can be done about to make it better without substantially changing the historical accuracy. I haven't tried yet, but it may be more fun to play as the NVA player.

That's part of the historical accuracy. The Black Panthers were holding the southern portion of the airfield while the remainder was held by service troops from the 1st ARVN Division's Ordinance Company. The only portion of the airfield that wasn't overrun was the Hac Bao position in the south. Since the north is designed to be overrun, I have given the victory hexes there less points than the ones being held by the Black Panthers (although the points may still be in need of tweaking).

I had a FULL COMPANY of vc pinned by one of the machinegun emplacements for 10 turns, until a few got past to capture the v-hec behind it and blew it up. maybe have them spread along a wider area so they all don't try to hit the same point

I'll playtest that and shift the NVA to the north so as to spread them out some more.
