Indian T-90
Anybody else been following the fiasco with the Indian T-90.
Complaining inacurate & used all there ammo because Thales Catherine Sight (TI) stops working in there heat. They stated temperatures regulary reach 55-60C & it fails throwing all targeting off. 10 minutes digging & I have the Brochure which cleary states with supplied croyogenic pack operating temps are............ -40 to +55C somebody really did there homework:shock: Bit more digging & think the Russians have these on their T-90s which surprised me its a bit colder there though. Still at least we know Russia wont be invading anywhere warm if thats the case. Turns out this problem is quite common the M60A3 needed air redirecting over its unit for instance. They also somehow neglected to ask for reprogaming to allow using there own ammo. Have not managed to put a missile together that works think sent back. By all accounts cant assemble the kits so they stay together long enough to roll out of the door either. Must have been a politician or 2 involved in this. |

Hello Imp.
Give please source or link. Thanx |
Re: Indian T-90
There are loads cleared my history but heres a basic one
http://www.india-defence.com/reports/2081 Delve a bit deeper & getting more info is not to hard relating to ammo build problems missiles etc. As I said Catherine sight made by Thales has 3 versions all state max op temp as 55C. Its hard to see who the blame lies with but looking more like india in my view they could have found this out in 10 minutes like I did. Or try checking they destroying a lot of home grown ammo because stored incorrectly & packed with if I remember triple the correct charge, this might explain why they cant put missiles or kits together. |
Re: Indian T-90
Never heard that T-90 were on sale to India with French TI. I know that on arms of Russian army there are tanks T-90 with French TI.
Also I know that for today the majority of the Indian tanks are blind at night and without TI. I think soon Indians will solve this problem. |
Re: Indian T-90
Okay its nice to confirm that thanks do you know of any other Western equipment in use by Russia?
I think lack of space in turret is causing problems with how to get extra cooling though I seem to remember Libya or Algerian order was supposed to include aircon & missile defence system |
Re: Indian T-90
I am unfortunately not so well informed in use of the Western equipment in the Russian arms.
