Teleporting an immobile pretender.

My pretender is a Sphynx, thus immobile and huge :D
I was palling to teleport it amongts a few heathen wandering here and there. But to my abysmal disapointment, when I tried to cast the spell, I had a 'the unit is too immobile to be teleported'.

My question is : what does 'too immobile' mean ???
And of course : how can I teleport a Sphynx, then ?

Sphinxes can't move at all as far as I know. All other pretenders can be teleported around (oracles...) but not the sphinx.

The Sphynx is a special case. Stygian paths is the only thing spell can move it, it seems:

It means you can't teleport it. It's meant to spoil the cheap strategy of teleporting the sphinx into a province and winning the battle through autoroute. A typical army won't be able to kill it fast enough.

All right, I understand. Too bad, my last chance of fighting some fierce battles before the upcoming defeat vanishes in melancoly.

You can patrol with your Sphinx can't you?

If you are loosing that should work fine.

I think immobile pretenders can't break siege. I don't know about patrolling.

If you're losing anyway you don't need to patrol, just tear down your home fort before the enemy gets there.

Re: Teleporting an immobile pretender.

I can't patrol with this pretender, just defend castle. And unfortunately, I've learned the lesson too late to destroy my castle. The ennemy is at the doors.

Too bad, it could have been fun.

But now I'm warned with this trap. Beware my future D5S* Sphinx pretender for the forecoming games, I will Stygianpath on your bodies without mercy, muuuuhahahahahaaaaaaaaaaa !!!

You can 'shift X' to give the patrol order to an immobile commander. Or hilite multiple commanders (including the immobile one) and give the "Patrol" command to a mobile one.

You can't do either of these to Break Siege, though.
