New patch 1.49 question

In tactical combat, I can no longer see the range to the enemy. Also, I have to hit "end turn" twice a lot in tactical combat to finish a turn. I am a relative newb (8th game) and wondering if I just don’t have an option turned on. Thanks! Patch 1.49.

I don't know about the range, but if you have ships in the square already, you'll have a 2 pronged attack. This causes the computer to make 2 sides for you alone. If you look you'll see that the first click of end turn moves you along to the second flag. Then you click it again to end the second.

It's a bug of some kind, but it isn't really that serious, I don't think.

The range-to-target is always on, and seems to work for me. Just be sure you've got your mouse over an enemy ship, and the range will appear right below the enemy's size

I never knew that they displayed range and I've had the game since January!

Its quite useful for tactical combat, and theres a range display in the strategic map too. Bottom left corner, in white.

Re: New patch 1.49 question

In tactical combat, is there any way to set the targeting default for all weapons to 'off'?

In order to perform surgical strikes (with ship capture as the goal), I must first turn off targeting of all weapons and then select the ones I want.

It would be much easier if all weapons were off at the beginning of each combat turn.

Thanx,

An "All Weapons On/Off" toggle has been requested as a new feature a number of times; for now you have to do it manually.

You know, I never noticed it because I always play at 800*600 resolution. I just tried it out at 1200*800 and it I finally saw the range display...cool.
