Private Message Notification Area
 

Would it be possible to make the "Private Messages" display pop a bit more when there is a new, unread message? Maybe add a subtle yellow-green background color and border of the whole Private Messages line? Something that is noticeable in a peripheral vision sort of way, but subtle enough not to be garish. The text is pretty small, and exactly the same color as everything else on the page. It's rather hard to notice new messages unless you actively look at that area on a regular basis. Apparently I received one back in Sept. that I only noticed today...

If you click on 'User CP' then under 'Settings & Options' click 'Edit Options', you will find some useful tools under 'Private Messaging'. I set mine to receive email notification and to have an alert when new messages arrive.

I am aware of that. It doesn't make the notification area any more usable.
