blood sacrifice

I have the impression, that if I give blood slave for a priest and tell him to sacrifice, then next turn I pool all the blood slaves but dont give him new ones then the next turn he will just restock but wont sacrifice. Is it correct?

update: just tested it, and it is true indeed.
