M5A1's vs Panzer 3's and 5's

I just recently had A battle where I had an company sized infantry (w/ light M5A1 tank support) against an against all odds onslaught of A panzer assault.

Now I know 6 of the M5's wouldn't stand A chance in an open range shoot out with even the Panzer 3's...much less the 5's...

But I got lucky in engaging them within 2 to 3 hexes and had amazing success! Turned the entire tide of battle! Here is screen cap for proof.

Anyone else had this kind of success? I mean of course I lost all tanks eventually...but it was this that won the battle

The 37mm US gun, once it got decent ammo, was I believe the most powerful 37mm of the WWII, so with side shots or close-in front turrets these Panzers would suffer.

Look in the AAR section under "Panthers and Popguns" for a similar battle, 10 Panthers vs 2 Stuarts...

Fun, but VERY intense.

Stuarts are one the best if the best light tanks in WW2.

Very versitle.

The fast speed gives more shots, if not zipping at high speed all over the place.

I use them in wolf packs, single out a panzer, get in as close as possible fire from all angles as possible, then scoot to cover.

Speed is thier best asset should be used to shoot and scoot.

Great for running down routing units and causing chaos on arty parks also.
