Reinvigoration question
I have been having problems getting communion masters to cast Reinvigoration. I suspect it is because they themselves are not very fatigued compared to their slaves. Does anyone have good insight into what factors control the AI's decision to cast or not cast Reivigoration? Does anyone know how I can script a communion to make sure that it happens?
Thank you very much for your assistance. |
Re: Reinvigoration question
If there is a certain amount of fatigue required you could solve it by using fewer slaves, or heavier spells cast by the master before. Of course you need to make sure there are blood slaves for him to use also, you didn't simply forget to give him blood slaves did you?

Re: Reinvigoration question
Yes, I'm sure he had blood slaves.
Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I'm trying to see if anyone has a deeper understanding of the AI decision-making process with regard to this spell. |
Re: Reinvigoration question
look at the debug output viewing the battle. Run dominions in a terminal with -dd or so, more d's = more output. It says why the AI chose the spell (or not), well not exactly, but it gives hints.
I did this some time ago because it cast antimagic instead of master enslave, (antimagic was scripted by the next master to also effect the acquired units). The system works by assigning points to each spell, giving bonus for being scripted, number of targets affected, malus for excessive fatigue, etc. It simply ended with a lower number for master enslave than antimagic. My own army was too big compared to his, I guess. You have to look what it says for you. |
Re: Reinvigoration question
Thank you, that was very useful. I will take a look and see what I can figure out from the debugging information.

Re: Reinvigoration question
Could be that your enemy was too weak compared to you? So that the mage don't want to use the slave?
