Technical Issues
 

Posting this here because I am not sure where else to take this problem.

I've recently installed Dom III on a family laptop only to find that the game refuses to render almost any terrain, it won't bring up the opening menu nor even show the Illwinter icon that normally appears on the left hand side of the starting screen. As one can imagine that makes playing the game a bit difficult.

My system specs are as follows.. Vista Home Premium OS, 1.6ghz processor, 2038mb RAM, Intel 945GM Express Chipset Video Card.

Not sure what the issue is and I'd be thankful for assistance,

For starters, have you

1) Verified that your graphics drivers are correct and up to date? Check w/Microsoft Update.
2) Decreased the graphics options to their minimal levels? The graphics card in that chipset is pretty darn anemic.

Also, make sure that your Dom3 license key is entered properly; might need to reinstall.

The graphics card I have little control over. As it stands because of the way this POS laptop was built, I'm basically incapable of updating it. Can't use the microsoft update files to update the driver, can't use the Gateway website to update the driver.. Vista keeps crying about some sort of certification issue.

I cannot access the game options to decrease the graphic options unfortunately as I cannot even see my menu when I start the game.. makes it so I cannot access the preferences.

If it's a CD-Key issue I'll opt for a reinstall.. maybe if I patch after the install as well things will be better. Thank ya.
