simulating fleet problem
I have run into the following problem in all my recent games, though some earlier games worked fine. In simulation mode, when I create a fleet and try to add ships ("add all" or individual click on a ship) the fleet logo disappears! No fleet is created. This is rather frustrating because I cannot simulate fleet strategies anymore. Has anyone else experienced this? I wonder why it used to work, but does no more!
A second problem I have is how to simulate a ship attacking a sector with mines or satellites, e.g. a planet or a warp point. Is there a way to do this? They don't seem to be on my selection list with planets, warp points and ships for some reason, nor can they be added as "cargo". Any help would be appreciated. |
Re: simulating fleet problem
The fleet bug happens to me too. Simulation of warp point battle would be a nice feature.

Re: simulating fleet problem
I have this bug too. Fleet simulation does not work in my games.

Re: simulating fleet problem
This bug has been discussed repeatedly in older threads; here's the solution:
quote:
For some reason I have never been able to put my ships into fleets in the simulator. I open the window, click "create fleet", type in a name, but then when I try to add ships to it by clicking on the ships, the fleet disappears from the right-hand-side window. Can somebody confirm that this is a bug?
suicide_junkie replied: Yes, it is a bug, but the solution is quite simple (and I've mentioned it three or four times now in old threads) Open the "fleets for player" menu, then close it, then open it a second time. Everything should work now. If you close the simulator, you will have to do it again.

Another bug in the simulator is that if the window lists an existing fleet when it opens, that fleet will be disbanded when you close the simulator. ------------------ Cap'n Q My first SE IV mod! Thanks, capnq. It worked. What a relief!

Re: simulating fleet problem
I gave up on the simulator ages ago - it's just too flaky for me, and very different from real combat.

Try starting a game with full tech, design some mines, and then see if they show up in the simulator. |
