new RIOT CONTROL weapons??!?!
 
After the initial shocking introduction yesterday I'm still going with my latest PBW game which I took over from somebody else. Facing an empire with 70+ planets out of the 90 on hand rioting I'd have placed riot control weapons at the top of my empire's research piority, if there is such a thing. For the next patch I'd love to see things like space age water cannons, nuclear stunt bombs and plantary tear gas cannisters! http://www.shrapnelgames.com/ubb/ima...ons/icon10.gif Especially for the psychic races which I'm playing, they are supposed to be masters at mental warfare and my troops should be able to crush a riot just by mind bLasting!

At the moment though I've settled on building lots and lots of bare bone small troops.

Build troops, that will help. My troops are usually unarmed and named "Riot Squad". Ok, sometimes I add a ground cannon or two. This stops a riot quite fast. http://www.shrapnelgames.com/ubb/ima...ons/icon12.gif

This is a good idea. I suppose you could just mod the components yourself, but in order to prevent their use on invasion troops, you'd ahve to make them too expensive for anyone to bother with.

Unless it's possible to mod a component to increase happiness. (Firing tear gas at ppl makes them happy? Now I know what to get my girlfriend for Christmas.) Even that would be complicated. I guess it needs a hard code change=-(
