New posting abilities/lack thereof
 

Really not sure I like this new forum stuff. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon9.gif , Gone are the days of our Ranks, now there is a 'poster ranking' that apparently others vote for.(umm, hello popularity contest?), new abilities like 'add poster to ignore list' (whats up with that?, this board is virtually flame-free, why do we need an ignore button?). That and I hope Shrapnel gets the attachments working quick (that and I hope all the previous attachments are not 'lost', that would be a nightmare).

Hopefully I don't sound too much the whiner (what can I say, grumpy old man that dosn't like change http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif .)

I'm pretty sure the files are not lost.
If I click one of the file links in my sig, it goes to a "Download this file?" message, rather than a "404: file not found".

It looks like the sigs are added to the post by default. I may have to shorten it up a bit.

I had a bookmark to the shipsets/AI section. Seems to look the old way and show attachments.

As long as there is at least one thread to post in that runs under the old system, we can upload files there and URL tag-link 'em from here.

It would work just fine, as long as those threads stay the way they are.

Rank (Major/Captain/etc.) still appears - just not for the top (i.e., latest) post in a thread (which is kinda weird). And yeah, that "rate member" item is a thinly veiled popularity contest. I can't imagine anyone on this board getting a poor rating (at least not anyone who's allowed to continue posting).
