Quick question
Is there a magic site that decreases your dominion in a provence? I had a read through the database and didn't find a column for that effect. does that mean that the only hidden things that decrease dominion are sceptics and scouts with stone idols?

still, all problems that can be solved by patrolling? (except that spell)

Re: Quick question
No, patrolling does not affect dominion at all. Patrolling decreases unrest (while killing some population in the process) and has a chance to find hidden units.
So patrolling is useful to get rid of general unrest (from events or spies etc), to find hidden enemies and to keep unrest down while bloodhunting or overtaxing. To counter any form of attack on your dominion (Blood sac or other dompush strat, hidden enemy priests or prophet, heretics and melancholia) you have to build temples, preach and/or get rid of the source of the problem, by killing the enemy unit/nation in question or herd your heretic units into a dedicated province. |
Re: Quick question
Still, patrolling can help against dominion attack by finding and killing hidden enemy priests/prophets/heretics, which is what I think he meant.
Tying back to his original question, if his dominion is dropping in a specific province, patrolling is a good way to deal with it, by finding and killing the source. |

Umm, is it "ethical" to overtax? I don't think my minions would like it! |

Re: Quick question
Gods have always been a law unto themselves, rarely feeling bound by the rules they impose on mortals. That doesn't mean that those who feel inclined to roleplaying can't play a benevolent diety, concerned with the well-being of his followers.
Even so, some hardships must be imposed for the greater good. In the real world it was common, the current debacle notwithstanding, to raise taxes to pay for wars. |
