Why didn't armor of virtue work?
Hi,
I had an annoying thing happen to me in an MP game. I had kitted out Igarak the arch devil to take on my opponents SC's with armor of virtue, thinking that if he got the first shot in, the opponent would go to inferno, and if the other guy hit me first, I'd teleport back home, no loss. But what happened was the opponents tartarian titan chopped Igarak up with three hits while the devil was busy scything skeletons. Does armor of virtue have some restriction that it doesn't work for demons? Here's the full set of items Igarak and his opponent had: Igarak: Vine shield, wraith crown, boots of swiftness, armor of virtue, ardmon's soul trap, amulet of resilience. Tart: Picus's axe of rulership, shadow brand, horror helmet, shroud of the battle saint, chi shoes, stone bird, amulet of antimagic |
Re: Why didn't armor of virtue work?
There is a known bug whereby if your commander wearing the Armor of Virtue moves on their first turn, the armor can miss when auto-casting. For that reason, you should always script "hold" or "cast" (when some buff is appropriate, vs. a damage spell) as the first order for a unit with the AoV.

I saw Armor of Virtue fail once because the wearer was in unfriendly dominion. That happens right? I think that happens.

Wow! I've thought for years that it depended on dominion. I guess the commander I saw die in the armor must have walked out of the returning cloud thingy after all.

Also I've seen the armor of virtue place the auto-casting of returning on other units standing next to its owner. Its one way to get ritual of returning on a regular unit.
