Blamed Sabotage
Is it possible that the Messages your counter intelligence department gives you are wrong, or in other words, is there such a thing as blamed sabotage in SE IV, like it was in SE III?

I think there is, but I am not going to bank on it.

Re: Blamed Sabotage
Comm mimic forces you to choose an empire to blame it on, but I can't think of any others that would work that way.

Re: Blamed Sabotage
i think the question is not "can you intentionally frame someone for your hostile intel?"
rather, i think it is "is it possible that your minister is ever randomly WRONG about who they report the source of a hostile intel project to be?" my answer is "i have no clue, whatsoever." But there are many here more wise than I. |
Re: Blamed Sabotage
I'm pretty sure that they will either finger the correct instigator, or not mention any.
Still, I'm not 100% sure. A good test for this would be to start a 3-player game, and max out on intel production. Player 2 bombards player 1, player 3 is idle. Player 1 uses varying amounts of counter-intel, and watches to see if anything ever seems to come from player 3. |

Not always. You can get intelligence points by trade (partnership treaty) and I don't these points show up in the listings unless you are the player using them. He'd still need to have intel researched to do the attack though. Phoenix-D |
Re: Blamed Sabotage
Blamed sabotage/intel projects is one of the features from SE III that I miss the most in SE IV (after selecting individual starting technology levels).
I do not understand why MM did drop this in SE IV, although you have a very potent (even too potent) intel project in SE IV that will make two empires go to war against each other: communication mimic. But still it would be nice to make intel projects (at a higher cost of course) without letting the victim know you did it! [ 29 November 2001: Message edited by: Q ]</p> |
