Forging Mods?
What's currently the best MOD for increased selection of forged items?
|
Re: Forging Mods?
There are none, cos you can't do it.

In any case, according to the documented item modding commands you're rather limited; basically you can set the weapon and/or armor that the item grants, but absolutely nothing else. On the armor side, there's a pretty good spectrum of basic armor variation already. On the weapon side, I suppose you could add weapons with a few effects that are not currently assigned to anything, but most effects you'd want are either already there or would be overpowered. Also, you can't use custom item sprites, so you're stuck with e.g. 6 new swords looking like swords of sharpness, or something. |
Re: Forging Mods?
The most you can do is take some item you deem useless or redundant and changing it into something else.

Stavis_L - you might be right actually, I've never really looked into it. Yes, you could give items associated weapons and armors, and you can edit them pretty well. What you can't do is give items any effect other than weapon/armor stuff (no boosters, gem gens, spellcasting items etc).

Magic item creation would be a big plus. Any Dominions 4 would need to have this availible. |
