Midget Masher

The description says that this item does extra damage to smaller opponents... does this mean smaller than you, or is it a generic "small" size (I'd guess 1 or 2)?

*Channel IRC*

[Sombrero] smaller than you.
[Calawank] see. insulting yourself to hide your true ID. text book deflection tactic
[Sombrero] It doesn't care how much smaller.
[Soyweiser] I assume smaller than you, but I wasn't sure.
[Sombrero] Just smaller (yes/no).
[Soyweiser] great.

So use it on a large guy. Hero blade (added in CBM does the opposite, so it does damage on larger beings, use it on markata).

Cool. Thanks!

I guess it'd mostly be useful in the arena, or for assassinations, since you can only really hammer at one little person at a time. You'd get swarmed, otherwise. Doesn't beat trample.

The way I look at it, if you have a large commander, you should be getting swarmed if you have a smart opponent, so better to be able to knock some skulls when they come at you :D

Or if your enemy uses Bane's as raiding thugs, drop a flying quickend sleeper with midgetmasher on them. SLEEPER MASH!

But they'll still get at you, since you can only kill one at a time.

In CBM 1.7 (haven't checked 1.8) it does AOE 1 damage like a fire/frost brand (but -15 damage). So, on a very large, very strong unit (e.g. an ettin) it can be quite effective.

Re: Midget Masher

the AoE is already in cbm 1.6 I think.

the -15 damage modifier is gigantic, with 25 str you only do 10 damage, doubled against smaller opponent, on a 2-handed weapon...

I'm unsure whether the damage is doubled before subtracting prot or if only the damage that goes through prot will double, anyone know?

Final, that I don't know, I would suspect before. But that is an assumption. Could you test it with the debug mode on?
