Windtalkers

I had the pleasure of seeing this movie tonight, and I must say that I enjoyed it. John Woo has come along well as a director, and Cage well as an actor. The action scenes were well done, and fun to watch. In fact, the way your introduced to Cages character should impress you. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif Trust me, it was, shall I say, well done. (Everyone in the theater, including me, didn't see it coming.)

The movie was worth the cost of an evening showing ticket. I hope you go and see it.

Ya, it wasn't a bad movie. Not bad at all.

I haven't seen Windtalkers yet, but I intend to see it.
I first heard of the use of the Navaho language as a code in WWII in the 70's. IMO, that one idea was a bigger help to the war effort than any other.
Isn't it funny how a person may get a
Medal of Honor for a little bravery, but another one such as whoever first proposed this idea, will forever be nameless!
I wonder how many Japanese code breakers were punished for NOT breaking this code?

Re: Windtalkers

I saw Windtalkers on opening day... I am a fan of WWII, John Woo movies and Nick Cage, so I couldn't pass it up.

Overall, the movie was entertaining, and didn't waste time on a useless love story (Pearl Harbor anyone?). However, if you're into realism of weapons and historical accuracy, be prepared to shake your head more than once. I didn't know hand grenades created a huge, bright orange fireball with sparks! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif

Also, the music and use of slo-mo made me feel like I was watching an episode of The A-Team sometimes, but it wasn't too bad.
