I'll look at the HMMWV's but none of the various speeds we use strays outside of the range of speeds from various sources that rate the speed for that vehicle and the difference between 24 and 27 is one (1) Hex of cross country movement and don't you think that maybe all the extras added to the HMMWV to make it an Avenger might alter it's speed somewhat more than a what a blanket statment that the speed shall be 24 for armoured and 27 if not would cover ???. If the range was 18 - 30 I could see your point but all our speeds are with the 24-27 "limits"


OK, I'm with you on the Survivabilty rating for the ABV... it will be a bit fragile if confrounted with a real threat but FC, RF, Stab ratings for what ???...... a single defensive MG ??

How EXACTLY is that weapon "stabilized" ? WHY would it have FC & RF ??

I never said the difference between 24 and 27 was significant, only that it existed *grin*

Again, not saying the ABV necessarily has FC, RF, Stab ratings ... but I wouldn't be surprised if it uses an RWS/CROWS type targeting system and perhaps should actually have ratings similar to other RWS/CROWS equipped units.
Personally I haven't looked at it the ABV close enough myself to know what, if any, targeting system it uses, so I just mentioned it in the same breath as the lack of a survivability rating.

The ABV.
Mounts a manned 12.7mm on the commanders cupola with 2x8 shot electrically operated 40mm grenade launchers 1 mounted to each side of the superstructure, see pictures below. Was some talk of mounting 12.7mm RO gun station,, however I believe this has not occurred yet due to priority given to vehicles in the "light" MRAP category i.e. M-ATV and APC's to this point. I believe there's more in the MBT thread or other that dealt with the ABV can't remember which-sorry.

I present also the GRIZZLY which was cancelled in 2001, which was designed to carry either an RO 12.7mm MG or a 40mm AGL. Initially these programs did cause some confusion much as what happened with the M60T being referred to as the SABRA MK3.

An ABV is pure nonsense and a pie in the sky dreams a glint in some generals eye who has lost touch in reality and still beleives billions will still be spent on this and others with the current democrat president and economic problems we have in the U.S currently.. a waste of money IMO.
