Damaged vs. Destroyed
Is there a way to mod either weapons or armor to make AFVs more prone to be damaged/immobilized rather than be destroyed outright? I don't mean shots bouncing off the armor, I mean penetrating hits that cause damage, suppression, and mobility loss.

I think there's this option to increase tank's resilience on Preferences Screen called "Tank Toughness"; increase if you feel like tanks are easily destroyed, decrease if you feel otherwise. But in regards about damage, I think it's pretty much affected by various factors, kindof chance or probability check too.

Re: Damaged vs. Destroyed
Smaller Warheads do less damage and less destruction, but changing them all would be a pain for you...
i also think AP ammo destroys less often than HEAT when hit and penetrate. |
Re: Damaged vs. Destroyed
If a round only just penetrates the armour it will do less damage, and may result in minor * or ** damage. But rounds that easily penetrate are more likely to cause a 'brew up' or serious **** damage...

Not every penatration hit destroys a AFV outright. And always will cause some suppession. Sometimes it's a mobility kill and other times on the main gun and still have some mg's on a tank for instance. There are times with * you may not lose any capabilties. I've had times when i lost all guns but still had mobility and other times just lost the main gun and still had full speed, with tanks like the Stuart, they still can function as a very fast mobile armoured MG nest:) Yes, you can dail up armour toughness, depending which side it's done on, would make them harder to kill. |
Re: Damaged vs. Destroyed
A bit OT but wasn't there a graphic on the original SP where the turret could be blown off? It would just show a black spot around the turret ring. I might be mistaken. That would be good to see once in a great while, especially after a magazine hit.
