Germany vs. US Map Sides

Why is it that in US vs. Germany scenarios, Germany is always on the right side regardless of whether it's AI or human, even in the scenario editor? How can one can change this?

Because Americans roughly advanced in an eastern direction every time.

Unless i'm totally wrong,you can change the side in the editor from what i've have heard,but i don't know how to myself,

In Italy the Allied advance would not have to go from right to left? southeast or northeast?
But also depends on where you look ...
