AI Mods
 

Where could I find an improved AI? I'm thinking of running a PBM game with a few friends and would like one that is challenging (w/o cheating like other game AIs do).

I've downloaded some AIs in the past but they were incomplete or not all that tough...

I would suggest the TDM Modpack AI's. And if that's not enough you could give the AI bonuses.

Regardless of which you chose though, you should set the game to disallow surrender. At least that way the AI won't fold at a point and give all the ships and tech to someone. I have been in games where I have been distracted cleaning up the Last of an AI that would not surrender and had a Human player swoop in an knock me on the head.

Heh, that's the AI I've been playing with lately... I suppose it's a lot harder if you create a smaller universe - I usually play large ones with multiple AIs. Somebody have a url handy where I can get the latest Version of the TDM AI?

I totally agree about AI surrenduring... I have acquired far too much tech easily that way.
