How will Gold effect New Ship Sets and Races

Forgive me if this has already come up, I did a search but could not find the topic anywhere.

How will the New Gold Edition, (NGE) handle new ship sets and Race styles?

What I mean is, currently everything is perty much simple, you create a race, put it in the race folder. How will this change with NGE?

Will all currently exsiting ship and race sets have to be altered, and if yes, to what exstent?

I do look forward to adding additional images to all of the ship sets I have compiled if needed, but I am a little concerned as to how much of a change will be needed.

I did not think any change would be necessary. There wasn't any additions to the vehichle size.txt file was there? Except of course the addition of drones. They AI will have to be fixed I think, but other than that, nothing.

Any one know for sure?

This is what made me wonder.

The shipsets themselves wont have to be changed. This is a change to the Vehiclesize.txt file. It allows modders to specify a primary and alternate bitmap for each hull type. As long as the modder does it right and all the alternate butmaps aare one of the 20 standard bitmaps you won't have to change your shipset. But what this does is allow modders to take advantage of those shipsets that do have extra images without forcing every shipset to have a new image.

Check out this thread for a more detailed explanation.
