battle testing
I'm quite sure this has been asked before, but I've searched this forum for half an hour now and didn't find an answer:
I'm trying to do some battle testing, but I can't seem to get it to work. 1) In the main menu (which I assume is the one where you get 'create new game', 'play an existing game', etc.), the : command for entering debug mode doesn't seem to work. Note, in case it's relevant: I'm on a Mac with Tiger OS and a European (QUERTZ) keyboard. 2) In the usual battle view, I can add units with the U command as normal, but I can't seem to give them items. Is there a way to do this? Could somebody shed some light on this for me or refer me to the doubtlessly existing pages that explain this stuff? Thank you! |
Re: battle testing
2) is a no. Can't add items, or a script, or anything of the sort to units spawned with the ctrl+U trick. If you want to hash out complex battles, I'd suggest setting up a small game with the debug mod, with only 2 Human nations.

You can also use my tool http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/showthread.php?t=45908 to automate creation of test battles.
