mods folder is not working

I have a bunch of mods in my mods folder but have none showing when I look in mods preferences

now I figured out how to get them to show up, but when I try to choose a nation to play, the game crashes.

We need more information!

Have you patched to the most recent version?

What os are you using?

Where did you install the mods?

What is the error message that is included with the crash?

Which mods?

I figured out I was extracting incorrectly
