Dominion Influences and Shifts
I recently got the unrest and misfortune event in my capital in the very early game. Can i counter that faster by bringing up my dominion (ie- preaching in my capital)?

Yes.

Re: Dominion Influences and Shifts
Only if he has luck scales I would think.

Re: Dominion Influences and Shifts
I don't believe so. Your dominion includes neutral scales.

Re: Dominion Influences and Shifts
if it has your candles, it will move toward your dominion, which will cancel the scale change.
You'll have to make the unrest go away the usual way. Improving how many candles you have doesn't help with this afaik. |
Re: Dominion Influences and Shifts
Thats what i wanted to know- thank you Squirrel.

Re: Dominion Influences and Shifts
No, one of the ingame tips says raising your dominion will lower your unrest

Quote:
You get unrest in provinces you own that have enemy dominion. It has to be pretty strong dominion to be noticeable, but those are the places where preaching (or building temples) contribute most to keeping unrest under control, not provinces hit by unrest events and spells, nor in provinces with unrest-causing sites and stealth units. Patrolling is the go-to method for handling unrest, coupled with tax reductions. Likewise, if your dominion is already strong, preaching isn't going to have an impact on shifting luck scales back from misfortune to whatever is normal for your dominion. |
Re: Dominion Influences and Shifts
I'm pretty sure the hint is lying, you dominion does not auto reduce unrest, nor does a candle increase reduce unrest.
Having *NOT* your dominion can *generate* unrest, so in that sense increasing your dominion can 'reduce' unrest by preventing it... |
