Small ID Flag Mod
 

This is a mod that Lahtinen aka. ‘Nox’ (from Finland) made for WinSPMBT back in 2006.

The mod changes two things:

1. It moves the ID flags from under the unit icons to above.
2. It reduces the size of the ID flags by about 40%

Unit icons are less obscured, and it looks more natural when flags are above the units.

I checked Lahtinen’s mod against the current game flags, and the flag of Imperial Iran (pre 1979 revolution) was added to the game in the MBT 4.0 update. I added the Iranian flag to Lahtinen’s 2006 mod.

Installation
1. Unzip the ‘WinSPMBT_Small_ID-Tags_v3a’ folder to your desktop.
2. Go into the folder and copy or move the 2 ‘shp’ files into the games graphics ‘folder’, and ‘replace all’.

Before you replace the original files, I recommend backing them up, by renaming them Icon0097.orig.shp, Icon0098.orig.shp or moving them to a folder called Original ID Flag Icons or something.

Your Graphics folder is located here:
WinSPMBT/Game Data/Graphics

Only these two files are modified:

Icon0097.shp
Icon0098.shp


NB. This mod only changes the flag icons, so can be installed mid-battle with no PBEM, security or OOB problems.

However, this mod is not endorsed or supported by Shrapnel Games or The Camo Workshop.

This is a must have, imo.
You have a similar mod for WW2 also don't you, or was that made by someone else?

I do have a mod for SPWW2 ID flags.

The WW2 mod makes the flags even smaller than this MBT mod, so this mod is called 'Small ID Flags Mod', the WW2 mod is called 'Miniature ID Flags Mod'.

Cross hasn't been around for a while - Hope he is ok - if he isnt available. I can do an interim version with new flags if folks want it.

OK Folks,

Until Cross returns to us and does a much better job, no doubt:

Here is an interim version of Cross' Small ID Flag Mod for Version 9.0 MBT.
The zip includes:
Icon0097.shp - Cross' original unchanged
Icon0098.shp - Cross' with my addition of the 9 new flags
Bonus:
2 Alternate flags for the Mujahideen in place of the "Green Crescent" flag, 1 a small version of the current OOB flag and a version of the "ISIS/ISIL flag" used as a basis for my Roundel Objective Mod. (to use either replace position #23 in the Icon0097.shp file using shped)

I don't believe any changes are required for V9.1, but if anyone finds any issues please let me know.

Again, I don't think there will be any issues with this for the V10 (2016) patch.

In the process of checking new patch (V11 2017) but don't anticipate any problems or changes required.
