What i miss from the old forums...
was the ability to search for a userNAME, instead of a user #. I don't know about you, but I haven't memorized what MY # is, much less anyone elses!
Another thing I miss was the little thread at the bottom of the forums index that told you who had been active within the Last 10 minutes. That was kind of cool, although it would have been better if it told you if that person was still Online in the forum (difficult to do now that you don't ever log out when you go offline...) edit: Not that I'm complaining, mind you. I'm amazed that Shrapnel or MM are still doing anything with the game at all, much less actually communicating with the fans!!! You don't find that everyday in this business. Hell, you don't EVER find that in this business!!! I was just ... reminiscing. [ 25 December 2001: Message edited by: dumbluck ]
|

As a workaround, you can use the username as a search term. If the person includes their username in their sig, or anyone in a thread addresses them personally, you'll at least get some hits.
[Edit]Or if they edited a post. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif Frex, a search on "dumbluck" gives 35 hits. [ 26 December 2001: Message edited by: capnq ]
|
