and can't seem to find one here in the multi-player room. where else can i go?(this will be my first MP, so i'd like to find a newbie game...)

You are unlucky 'cause they were a lot of noobs game opening 10 days ago.

You can start one.
http://www.Dom3Minions.com you can join one of the hosted games that are for 1 to 4 players. Announce it here and get others to join you. Click on the Hosted Games link

http://www.llamaserver.net is the easiest way to set up your own if it fits in the menu and if you want PbEM (play by email)

Or back to http://www.Dom3Minions.com if you want to setup a game outside of the menu. Anything you want can work. Click on the Hosting Games link. (Hosted for premade games, Hosting for your own setup).
