With SEIVG coming out soon, Does any one still play SEIV?
 

Since the announcement, I will be honest; I have not played SEIV. I figure what's the point SEIV Gold will be out soon, and perhaps by then, I will be amped up enough to jump back into the game.

Don't get me wrong, I love SEIV, and still actively promote it to people, but I don't play it any more.

I think with me, it’s the knowledge that Gold is coming, so I don't want to get burned out on the game, and not play Gold. So I don't play now, and when I get GOLD, I will be invigorated to play and do some damage to unsuspecting AI opponents. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

I can remember when I would spend at least 2 hours or more a day on this game, and even some all nighters. Oh those were the days... going from 1 planet with no technology to ruling the known galaxy with thousands of planets and thousands of ships. *Wipes drool off of face.

people still play against the AI? thats why god (and the Admiral) made PBW! of course people still play, games are ongoing, and the Nausea Heap is forging alliances in four different games. those either are or soon will be the dominant power in the known universe, and things like that just cant wait for the gold edition.

I'm not as math-analyzer as you, Atrocities http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/tongue.gif so i never got burned with the game. You are so active in this world that you know even the most intrincated mistery of SEIV. I am a much more modest gamer.

Being a new player, I'll probably comtinue with the Non-Gold Version until you veterans get it well checked out.

SEIV or SEIVG are excellent games. Most of us agree that SEIVG will be a great game, and I for one am egar to get my hands on it. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

I am not burned out yet, just taking my time and relishing every second of this game. Its not often that a person can find a game that has so much to offer for so little. I have been lucky, I have found 5 games in my life that I love. I have only had the game a month. I'm still learning so it is all new. I love the constant surprises like the subverters that captured one of my ships. At the moment I find it to be one huge multilayered puzzle. I have yet to finish more than half of the technology tree. Hmm, I hope Growltigga does not see this.

I'm another Newbie. In fact, unless I misread the web-site, I may have been the lucky soul who purchased the Last copy of SEIV before it went out of print!

I wanted to start right away, so I got what was available, rather than waiting for Gold. Perhaps by then, I'll know what I'm doing!

A lot of other Newbies here, huh? Maybe we should make a Newbie PBW game?

Finally (after a year) getting the "hang" of 3D modeling and hopefully have the majority of a race style (less AI) done this week-end. Prolly do a basic AI for SE IV and then re-do when gold comes out.

I still play SE IV almost daily. I have several different solo games in progress, using different mods and/or races; I'll continue with whichever game suits my immediate mood.

I just joined one PBW game, and have started a second which is still looking for players ("Know Your Enemy").

The Gold release date is too far away for me to wait for. I'm probably going to install Gold on a different computer, and keep playing both.
