Big Gun Prophet?

is there any point in propheting a already level 4 priest? that priest already has access to all divine spells. would i be better off making a prophet out of a level 3er so he would have additional power? or is there some use to a "super" prophet?

the only thing i can think of is, he might be very effective at spreading dominion.

Banishment would be very effective. Smite would also gain a penetration bonus...That's not really great though.

On a nation that can blood sacrifice, a h4 or h5 priest would be extremely effective, more efficient than dedicating a lower ranked priest to a province. Worth giving a Jade Knife to...

A nation with unique (un)holy magic could benefit from a high ranked priest. Extra penetration on Apostacy would be a helpful boost to countering banishment spam, as would a couple of other holy spells that only effect units on a failed MR check.

Finally, reainimation would be much more effective. At H5 you would be looking at something like 40 Soulless per turn, or 8 Longdead horsemen, 5 Manikins and so on.

You can also boost your dominion above your normal levels. Say you took dom 6, have 7 temples, by preaching you can get the dom up to lvl 10.

dom 6 + 7 temples then the maximum dominion is 7. I dont think you can preach up to 10

Wuh ? I thought you could only preach up to your holy level ? I know the game doesn't let my H1 priests preach in provinces where I already have high dom.

I think it's holy level x2 in a province with a temple. I don't see the benefit to preaching a province up to dom 10 though.

At Dom10, any dominion gains will spread to a nearly province. That can happen at lower levels, but it is guaranteed at dom10. Many effects are bolstered by a high dominion, both inside and outside territory that you own.

h1 can only preach up to dom3 (all with a temple) h2 dom5, h3 dom7, and h4 dom9 etc. (It is in the manual, dom spread is one of the fairly correct ones).

The interesting thing is that you can preach higher than your pretender dom score. So with a nation with cheap h3 priest you can pick a very very low dom score if you abuse this.

You can preach up to 10. Not over 10. But up to 10 is certainly possible. Sadly my explanation wasn't' clear.

I meant to say, dom 6 + 5 temples gives max dom 7.

Level 4 prophet has Word of Power (MR-negated paralyse spell) - with higher level of Holy (and penetration) it looks like a good counter to supercombatants.
