More Woes
 

Created a force based around a Lt Mech Company, ie Strykers. Once again my platoons have room in their APCs for the assigned squads, but no room for their javelin teams. So I guess they are supposed to run along beside the Strykers as they deploy into combat? Grrrr.

I suppose I could hop over to Mobhack and add another seat in the APCs, but that sounds wrong as I'm sure you guys knew what you were doing.

Also, purchased a MCS Platoon, yep invisible tanks again.

Do I have something set weirdly or is there a problem with the latest update or what?

Pending resolution, I'm going to wander over and play in a different sandbox.

Well I have no idea what you are doing if there is one OOB that has an ample amount of vehicles to infantry its the US one, normally you have far more carry capacity than you need.
Both Striker based formations I bought carried the troops no trouble at all, the javelins dont travel with the squads they have their own rides.

On your other post airbourne woes bought Para Co (A) & 4 airbourne tanks.
There was ample space on the planes that came with the Para Co to load the tanks also so I did.
Started the game & all went as normal tanks & crews landed seperatly as they are supposed to.

Have you read the game guide??
Dont unload vehicles & guns once you have loaded them.

First appologies for double post
On your invisible tanks the most likely causes are

You are running Win7 & did not follow the instructions not to install it in program files or any other UAC monitored location - reinstall correctly

you have done something to the OOB - reinstall defaukt OOBs

the game install is corrupt - check your harddisk & reinstall

Thanks Brigadier.

Running XP, OOB untouched until I was trying to work around the problem, corruption or faulty upgrade are the current suspicion and I'm off to check those out.

If your game has "invisible tanks" and NOBODY else does... what does that tell you ??

The "latest Upgrade" is a year old and if there were "invisible tanks" we would have heard about it 11 1/2 months ago.

The only "resolution" will be at your end. My guess is you have skipped a patch

According to Armor Cav Reference Data,for brigade combat teams,FKSM 71-8,dated May of 2011,each Stryker platoon is allocated 3 Javelins. Since there are only 4 vehicles per platoon, reality would dictate that each Javelin would ride along with each Stryker squad. IMO the DA would not risk having all their eggs in one basket,so to speak,by having them bunched together in one vehicle,and also that would leave not enough room for the 7 man weapons squad in the 4th vehicle of the platoon.

I believe this to be what takes place in reality,but that is only just my opinion. There were no Javelin missle teams in my day,but we had the Dragon and each team was separated in a different M113 APC.

FWIW,and not at all meant to disparage the current and most excellent Obat012 by the game designers.:D
