Can't get my CD to load anymore
 

After many years since buying SPWW2, it crashed where i could not get the game to play anymore "not a total computer crash" only WW2.
After deleted it.
I tried to load my CD version,and it would not install,tried everyway i could and nada.

The only thing i can think of is the CD is bad now,or something is wrong with my CD driver,although i load some other CD's and games with no problems.

I could download the free version, but i don't want to lose the CD features,i have really gotten used to them and would not be the same game.

So my question is:

Can one who has already bought the CD,get the the download version at no extra cost?

This is when a back up of the game on a flash drive would come in handy.

All I can suggest to try at this time is see if the CD works on someone elses machine.

However, The game should not , ever , "crashed where i could not get the game to play anymore "

Your best bet is to talk directly to Shrapnel, since we are the authors and they are the publishers. Like JK Rowling and Bloomberg forex.

They might be able to do something, if e.g. you can provide them with some sort of authentication of your original purchase.

(I believe they have a newly introduced scheme where they offer the ability to re-download (a form of "insurance") - for a little bit extra on top of the purchase price. However, that probably is not of help to you having purchased some time back?. So that scheme probably does not help in your case)

But this is the Camo game support forum - and so has nothing to do WRT purchasing/shipping etc. That is Shrapnel's side of things, not Camo Workshop's.

So - try contacting them via the Shrapnel contact address. They just might be able to help you out. Or maybe not - but it never hurts to at least ask :)!

Did you try cleaning the CD?

I have found a good cleaning often resolves problems.

If that doesn't work, try taking the CD to your local library who often have a DVD/CD disc cleaning machine that can repair many scratched or dirty discs.

Some libraries charge a small fee for the service.
