Life long contracts
 
What happens to the mage when the lifelong contract to get a devil each turn expires? Does the mage lose his if he dies with this item in his inventory? Is the item removable?

I meant lose his soul. I was wondering what the specifics of the item were.

It's good to know it's not removable before placing it on a pretender.

Even if you place it on a pretender - you can always quit and redo a turn from the start.
It`s just an unremoveable item that spawns devils while equipped and horror-marks wearer (chance is 10%/turn, AFAIK). So, sooner or later, horror will come and eat the mage.

Placing it on astral mages and scripting them to cast returning is a good way to avoid getting eaten by horrors.

Also unremovable items are clearly listed as unremovable in the wiki.

Also, you mean the soul contract. The lifelong protection items does not generate devils.
