Sub found for LA Marignon in the Awestruck game
Well, it looks like the Marignon player up and left us in the Awestruck game, so I'm currently looking for a sub.
We're only on turn 17 of the game right now, so there's still plenty of time to take the nation any way you want. They're also in a very solid position, being among the few larger nations and decent enough on all other graphs. The players in the game range from absolute newbies to grizzled vets, so players of any skill level are wellcome as long as they feel up to it. Important to note is that we're using the AwesomeGods and AwesomeEndgame mods. Descriptions and the like can be found in the game thread. If you're intrested, or need more info before taking the plunge, just let me know. |
Re: Looking for LA Marignon sub in the Awestruck game
Bumping due to lack of reaction so far. I'll restate that this is a perfectly viable position, doing decent to great in all graphs and not hampered in any way by stales or anything. also not currently at war, so you're free to go any direction you please.

Re: Looking for LA Marignon sub in the Awestruck game
I have a proposal. I will take Marignon if any one of your players gives serious thought to picking up the vacant Agartha position in Dead Shores. Of course I will probably have to take it on faith that anyone really does give it any thought, but I'm OK with that.
Agartha did well in early wars, but is now being overrun by TC (me). There are good players who could still turn it around. This weekend is Mother's Day and I will not risk the wrath of the mother of my children, and the love of my life, by downloading and testing new maps and mods, so next week, say Tues? Of course, you guys are still going to roll back, aren't you? One last thing, 24hr hosting may be too quick for me right now. Is it too early for you guys to move to 48? |
Re: Looking for LA Marignon sub in the Awestruck game
Great, you'd be very welcome. I suppose I can organize a last stand for Agartha myself if it'll help you out. Turnabout is fair play after all. :)
One caveat for me too is that I've come down with the flu myself and am not at my most energetic, so I'll look into all the details tomorrow or something, kinda too beat to start arranging stuff tonight. |
Re: Looking for LA Marignon sub in the Awestruck game
I also wouldn't mind 48 turns Amhazair.
And thanks for the offer and all that stagger. |
Re: Looking for LA Marignon sub in the Awestruck game
Thanks Amhazair. Good to get two games moving again. :)

Looks like I got another offer to take over Marignon on the Dom3Mods forum (From Jimbojones) who actually seems enthousiastic and wants to play with the mods we're using. Your offer came first though. If you're really looking forward to this the spot is yours, but if it's more of a sacrifice you're willing to make to help out the community I'll give it to Jimbojones instead. Your call.
Regardless, I'll make good on my offer to take over Agartha. |

@ Stagger
Good to see someone else taking the initiative in this way when sub searching. No idea why it's not used more often, as I've used this "sub-swap deal" a few times in the past to find subs, and have usually found it very useful in filling the tighter spots. Especially when experienced players are needed/preferred. The extra game is usually a burden of course, but I guess that burden is weighed against not wanting your other game to fall apart. One word of warning though, you still need to be careful who you are dealing with, as last time I did this I got properly shafted on the deal. As while I fulfilled my end of the deal as a dutiful sub until the game ended (and became the admin), the other end of the deal was broken by the guy I swapped with. As he only played six turns before disappearing, most of which were stales, with the ones he played consisting of nothing but him killing off all his mages and troops as soon as possible, and for nothing. Thereby turning a powerful and important position into complete ruin in short order. It was like watching a Lemming slide-show. Never did thank that guy for his efforts, so "Thank You for that Hadrian II. Well done you D-bag". But you won't have any problems with his Lord Amhazair, as he is a known gentleman of honour, integrity, and of fine moral standing. A man who had been a pillar of the community for several years, and is the product of good breeding and excellent grooming. (or at least that's what this card in front of me says) |
Re: Looking for LA Marignon sub in the Awestruck game
LA Marignon is on my short list for a possible near future game, so not purely a sacrifice for the greater good of the community. Sorry if I sounded unenthusiastic.
:smirk: :) :D (no, too far) |
