Possible Bug
An infantry unit with 6 MPs moves 2 hexes using 4 MPs, gets fired at and suffers a hit, pinning it. The unit rallies back to 1 SP and suddenly has 6 MPs again.
Has anyone else encountered this? |

It is reasonably rare, but it does happen, and it is not a "bug". Andy |
Re: Possible Bug
So a 'heroic' rally restores movement points unlike a normal rally which doesn't. Is there anything else that a heroic rally does differently?

Re: Possible Bug
Well, it restores all or most shot opportunities to the element, obviously (since MP are restored).

But on the Soviet's last turn, a single tank emerged abruptly from the rear and treaded upon (no pun intended) a VH behind my last trench line. There were four German infantry units within two or three hexes of the objective, and the tank was retreating--apparently it had seen its buddies brewing up along the trench and thought better of continuing the fight. Yet all those German units were pinned, none would rally, and there were no friendly tanks anywhere in range. What to do? Having lost the VH, a DV was probably unattainable, so my thoughts turned to simple revenge. Kill that fershlugginer tank! Had a squad with panzerfaust ammo remaining try from 100 meters. Well hey, they got a lucky hit, and guess what else happened? At the instant the tank exploded, a ring of bright squares appeared around the firing unit, and they had just enough MP to make it to the VH. And yes, securing the objective provided the margin of decisive victory. Heroic rallies (if that's what it was) are always nice, but this one was sublime. :) |
Re: Possible Bug
That was no heroic rally that was a unit losing suppression due to damaging or killing something & hence losing its pinned status.
