Experiencing interminably waits for the AI to finish?
I was experiencing up to five minute waits for the AI to finish "thinking". To this I am not referring to the cause-effect AI controlled unit interactions that by default are shown through the normal course of game-play. I mean just a static screen, one that possibly indicates the AI going though algorithms. So I wondered, why is the AI taking so long on my relatively powerful and virus free system? I decided that it must be getting confused by something and in short order it came to me in a flash of insight that it must be the shotgun scatter causing the AI a headache, imagine the AI having to construct an entire thought process for its entire army for each scattered v hex rather than just three globs of v hexes. Sure enough after implementing shotgun free v hex scatter the AI "thinking time" was down to around to 20-30 seconds on the exact same sized army (regimental that is).
TL;DR Getting rid of v hex shotgun scatter may improve AI induced anthropogenic temporal delay as a function of AI processes under controlled conditions.
