Cross Soft Vehicle Mod 2.1 - June 2013 (Easy Install)
 

Edit: The version 6.0 game patch overwrote a couple of files in version 1.0 of this soft vehicle mod. I have attached version 2.1 of this mod which has been updated for the latest game patch.

2.1 includes a couple of extra vehicles, like the Bren Gun Carrier and Soviet T-20 Komsomolets; and a few other minor improvements to modded vehicles.


This mod is designed to be used with the ‘vanilla’ OOB, and can be installed mid-game with no OOB or security issues

It replaces over 60 soft vehicle icons, focusing on Germany, Britain, Soviet and USA, but you’ll see changes in many other nations. About a dozen armoured vehicles have also been improved or have camo added, with the focus on Britain.

Icon Sharing
SPWW2 uses a lot of generic icons for soft vehicles. Those generic icons are often shared by several different vehicles, sometimes from different nations. For this mod to work with the ‘vanilla’ OOB it can only change existing shared icons, it cannot add additional icons.

Example
The US 2 ½ Ton Truck (GMC CCKW ‘Jimmy’) uses the same icon as the US Ammo Truck and the British Austin 30cwt. I decided to use a new Jimmy icon, as the ‘Deuce and a Half’ was one of the most prolific and well known trucks of WW2.

LBM Pictures
Several different vehicles may also share a picture. The mod also includes about two dozen modded lbm pictures, for improved quality, or better consistency for shared pictures.

INSTALLATION
1. Download the attached Cross.Soft.Vehicles.2.0.zip file.
2. Unzip to your WinSPWW2 folder, and Replace All.

I made a few small edits and released 2.1

2.1 changes the LBM picture for the US Weasel from the M29 to the M29C (amphibious version)
