Original MOBhack

I've been playing the SP series for a long time, tried the different mods and improvements, but I was wondering if anybody had the MOBhack for vanilla, old school SP 2. I had the file years ago, and nobody hosts it now, and I wondered if anyone here could help.

Sorry - those disks are long gone from any backups I had. Also ditto - the source code and the Borland Pascal compiler for the original DOS version (and later Delphi 1 and 2 compilers) for the windows 98 one.

Somebody may be able to provide you with a copy of it, if you're lucky.

Cheers
Andy

I think I have a copy of it somewhere in zip form. I never throw anything away, sanctions you know.

If I do, I'll send it.

The oldest one I have is from 1996 by Jim Bello, SP OB Edit version 1.5
I'll attach it to this post.

I believe this is the one from SP II

That is the OB editor for the original Steel Panthers I. Nice to get that to while I'm at it.

Here's one from 1997 version 1.8.6

Perhaps this is from SP II?

My question is this: if one is playing SPMBT 6.0,why would one want to limit themselves to this old and limited version of MObhack?

Just curious.:)

IMO,Steels Panthers has never been better, most likely will improve for the better and at the same time, could possibly never be equaled by another "wargame".

Call me an old nostalgic, but sometimes its fun to play the old versions and tinker around with some of the mechanics again. Interesting to play the old versions to see the contrast, fun to play the original again after all these many years. I don't see myself as being limited; I can always put away my DOSbox version and play the shiny new MBT any time I wish.

Also, I am currently trying to get this freshly downloaded SPobedit 1.8 to work, so I'm not sure if it is the SP Ii yet. Perhaps I'll have to fire up the old computer again.

Here is Mobhack for SP2, just as Andy Gailey made it. I have not used it in years.

Thanks for the time and effort. Its good to know there are people still out there archiving these old files. I hear people talk about how digital information can potentially have such a short life span and potentially go "extinct" so easily. It isn't until you look for some ancient files that you realize the continuity of some of the old stuff is really at risk. Thank you.
