Avoid The Dmi Site Ufn.
Don't know if we do this kind of thing, but, the DMI site apparently has been infected by a TROJAN so avoid it if possible. AVASTI will detect it (Free ware version.) as I stumbled onto it without seeing their warning post. Will let you know when it's clear. Has been a good source for me for awhile now.

Re: Avoid The Dmi Site Ufn.
Well no surprise,i don't trust any those sites.
I mean come on,,would the military give away all their secrets on the world wide web? There is high security after all correct? Or do you actually think every thing you read is true? |
Re: Avoid The Dmi Site Ufn.
Pat posted this as a warming to others. He ( and we .....) didn't need the editorial.

Re: Avoid The Dmi Site Ufn.
By way of update, I just went to the site and had no "alerts" by the same token however, though they are still posting stories up to 2 JULY, they have not posted the "all clear" yet. If you venture there, under the "Main Menu" section click on "Regional News" then "Global" and you'll find the two warning messages.
I further would like to remind everyone that the sites I normally use are designed for and used by various Defence Professionals. I bring this up only because in getting information on PT-91 TWARDY early this yesterday morning, something came from ether Army Guide, Recognition or Technology sites onto my computer. It bypassed all my security, was a script malware of some type, left a desktop icon with symbols similar to cyrillic and would not allow access to my security programs and strangely messed with my APC UPS "Power Chute" start up. When I finally got into a Malware program I use it came up with ADWARE.GDOWN don't know if this was the culprit but I was able to access another program that found 200 plus issues in various areas so it attacked system wide. I ran everything I had and Microsoft ran a system check as well, I'm clean now. I think someone could be testing these sites security systems, remember 80% of download issues come from legitimate websites. Please exercise caution when visiting these sites for the time being!!! Re: Avoid The Dmi Site Ufn.
By way of an update where I addressed the issues of the previous post, I emailed DMI before I hit the rack. Here is their responce...
Dear Mr. Conklin I thank kindly you for your interest and suggestion. Indeed. our site was 'awarded' extraordinary attention. We switched hosts and security. The attacker has managed to defeat two web security experts. Both were astonished at the repeated efforts allotted by the attackers to cripple the site. I personally feel that the attacker (was hired?) by a business competitor. We were given 'cleaned' status from Google. We will post 'all clear' as soon as we are sure that the attack is indeed beaten I have forwarded your suggestion to my administrator and security team. Again, thank you for your interest and recommendation, Kind Regards, *Zahi Yarom* Defense Market Intelligence zahy@dmilt.com www.dmilt.com ** I've not had any issues since posting the warning and the "other" site(s) seem to be clear as well as posted on last.
