Unit In Never-Never Land
 

Had a very strange thing happen. Polish unit J2 in attached save file can't be seen anywhere on the map. When I Next to it it shows me the unit data but the unit selection on the map stays on J1. If I click on it on the unit roster, it shows me the information on it rather than going to the unit on the map.

Took a look and i could not find the J2 either.

Thought it was stacked with J1 since when going to the roster and clicked J2 it shows J1 on the map,but when ended turn J1 retreated and still no J2.

What hex was it in?

No "bug" as it is off the map at -1,-1 where al the off map stuff hangs out.

It probably ran away and you did not notice?.

It has probably only just done so since its status is shown white - end the turn and it is updated to red. That might be a minor buglet.

In the preceding turn the unit didn't do anything unusual and to the best of my recollection nobody even shot at it. As you can see in the save there aren't many enemy units left.

The status as shown for the unit only shows a suppression of 7 and plenty of men to absorb any losses.

Well - it has gone off-map for some reason. Try playing from the previous turn if you have it. Then if something odd happens to it, and that is reproducible then we can take a look.

Unfortunately I can't go back.

There's still something wrong in that under normal circumstances when a unit is eliminated or runs off the map, the Next function skips over it and the unit menu shows its status. In this case Next goes to it and the status is Ready. It looks like the location was changed to -1,-1 but nothing else was.

I'll go to flip-flopping save files so I'll always have the previous one available if something strange happens.:)
