Discount sites + globals
 

I seem to recall hearing at some point that if you cast a global in a province with a discount site, only extra gems beyond the base cost count for dispel resistance. So, if I cast Mother Oak in a province with an Alternation site, only gems beyond the first 50 would count. Is this true, or am I misremembering something?

Yes, that's correct. So the only point of casting a global at a discount site is if you're trying to cast it as cheap as possible. I'm not sure if this makes the global easier to dispel compared to casting it at base cost though.
