turn smoke off indefinatly?

Is there any way to turn off the smoke and to clear hexes for good? I know you can press the c key to clear hexes but it comes back on when a new smoke,fire, dust etc is made. Can be annoying when in the desert and every time a vehicle drives it turns it back on again and in the enemys turn it can be hard to see what's going on when the smoke etc is showing.

No. Becasue it needs to be displayed when a new smoke event happens.
